Equality Policy

Guildford Rugby Club is committed to everyone having the right to dignity and respect both on and off the pitch, whether players, officials, club staff or spectators.

The Club has a zero-tolerance policy in regard to discrimination and/or harassment and will take appropriate action against anyone who exhibits discriminatory behaviours up to and including the application of our disciplinary policy.

It is everyone’s responsibility to challenge inappropriate behaviours whether directly or by reporting any incidents to a Club Official.

In particular, the Club will do everything reasonable and practical to ensure dignity and respect in relation to:

• Gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity/paternity;
• Race, ethnic origins, colour and nationality;
• Religion or philosophical belief;
• Sexual orientation;
• Age;
• Disability;
• Gender Reassignment.

3. For clarity, harassment is any behaviour that undermines an individual’s dignity causing that individual to feel humiliated or intimidated and/or which creates a hostile, demeaning or offensive environment.

4. The Club will do everything practical to provide reasonable adjustments for those with a disability to support them in taking an active role in the Club.

5. Please discuss your needs with the Safeguarding Officer or another Official in order that we can jointly explore what can reasonably be done to meet your needs.

6. The Club is committed to taking positive action to ensure our Club is truly representative of our community.
