This week's news

The 1st XV travelled to Tring last Saturday looking to improve on their recent good form, but after an even start it was the home team that struck first with an penalty to lead 3-0 on the half-hour mark. Both teams pushed on but it was Guildford that took the momemtum, scoring just on the break to go in 3-7 ahead at half time. An early penalty to Tring was followed by some sustained pressure, and another penalty on the hour mark saw the home side retake the lead 9-7. Guilford struck back with a converted try but Tring crossed minutes later, and hung on through a tight closing 20 minutes to take the win 16-14.

It was 2nd vs. 3rd as the 3rd XV took on Teddington in Bushy Park and after a quick start by the hosts Guildford dug in well to keep the scorelines close, going in 11-8 behind at the break. The home team touched down early in the second half before a second try from Sam Goddard brought the scores back to within 3 points, but Guildford could not find a way through and had to settle for a losing bonus point with the final score 18-15.

Well done to Oli Millward and Sam Goddard for being chosen Man of the Match for the 1st and 3rd XVs.

The 1XV welcome Bedford Athletic to Broadwater this Saturday, and with the 2nd XV also at home to Richmond Jutes dont forget to book a table for Burns Lunch! The 3rd XV face a trip to Old Regatians while the Gazelles host Plymouth Albion Ladies for their game in hand on Sunday – all games kick off at 2pm and supporters (with or without kit) will be very welcome!
