Details:

• Location: Based at Guildford RFC, Broadwater Pavilion, Godalming, GU7 3DH

• Reports to: Guildford Gazelles Head Coach 

• Work Schedule: Regular evenings and weekends

• Contract: Self-Employed

• Remuneration: £6000-£9000 (Dependent on experience)

 

Training Schedule:

• Tuesday & Thursday, 19:15 to 20:45 & Sunday fixtures

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead on the coaching planning and delivery of forwards play for the Guildford Gazelles Rugby Programme.

• Assist in the delivery of the wider game model coaching as directed by the Head Coach (squad, small group skills, 1-to-1 sessions). 

• Review and preview performance and deliver units meetings to facilitate learning and prepare the squad for upcoming fixtures.

• Assist with the selection of the team and the feedback process to players. 

• Support the Head Coach in delivering a high-quality performance environment, staying true to our culture of performance, care and enjoyment. 

• Assist with individual development plans for selected players as agreed with the Head Coach.

• Work closely with the wider club staff including but not limited to; medical, strength & conditioning and analysis to best support the programme and players.

• Assist the Head Coach and Harlequins Women’s Pathway Manager in the management and transition of young players to senior rugby and their development while training/playing across multiple environments (PWR, BUCS, International U20s)

 

The Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed:

• RFU Level 3 Coaching qualification (or currently working towards one).

• Be able to demonstrate detailed tactical and technical knowledge of rugby union.

• Experience of delivering in a performance OR development rugby environment.

• Have detailed knowledge and understanding of player development and how to best

support the development process.

• Excellent organisation and time management skills. 

• Experience of recruiting players to a team or organisation. (Desirable)

• Knowledge of pathway, domestic and international women’s rugby. (Desirable)
