Minis Autumn Festival Report

We were delighted to host one of our largest Mini’s event of the season on Sunday welcoming new friends and old from Battersea Ironsides, Cranleigh, Farnham, Haslemere, Old Cranleighans, Petersfield, Reeds Weybridge, Sutton and Epsom, Warlingham and Wimbledon. It was fantastic to have 1100 children playing at Broadwater on a sunny autumn Sunday. Some great rugby was played as we lay the foundations for the teams that will contest the World Cup circa 2031!

Thanks due to our wonderful Ops team and, of course to, a wonderful set of local companies, from the health, nutrition and education sectors who are our sponsors and supporters including The Lantern Family Centre, Greener Greens, Next Thing Education, Sunrise Senior Living, Watts Gallery, Mount Alvernia and, of course, our long-standing Mini’s supporters and friends Denton’s Wealth. We were also very pleased to have supported the local Godalming Food Bank at St Mark’s church collecting tinned foods in return for organic sugar-free toffee apples – putting community into the heart of the Mini’s and Micro’s sections

Of course, the other key element of such events is the amazing army of volunteers we have across the club giving freely of their time and energy to ensure the smooth and safe running of these events. You know who they are – we all have such an army in our clubs. A heartfelt thanks to them all.

It’s back to normal next weekend with joint training when we welcome Trinity Titans for the first time.

If you want to find out more about what’s happening with Mini’s and Micros please come down and join us. You’ll find a warm welcome from this particularly vibrant community in the GRFC family
