There was great excitement at the club on the 5th April as the Mini’s Floodlit Festival kicked off.
What a way to start the weekend. 200 children gathered to burn off the last of the week’s energy. They arrived in daylight but as dusk fell the floodlights came on – an exciting first for these future rugby stars.
We were joined by Guildfordians Minis for the first time in a generation, a really special way to mark the closing season, especially as so many of the children know each other from school already. The atmosphere was fantastic!
The evening closed with 200 tired but happy children enjoying a well-earned Cadbury’s Crème Egg.
We raised a fantastic £359 raised from the raffle and cake sale to help the new Children’s Hardship initiative. Denton’s Wealth and Delta Force UK helped and supported the raffle.
The raffle winners were:
Rob Butler, taking first prize with a prize of paintballing.
Louise Chare, winning second prize – a signed ball.
And a special mention to Andy Jones
of the Lions for donating the most kit for SOS Kit Aid. Great job Andy!
