Welcome to the Guildford Gazelles Youth Home page!

Guildford Gazelles Youth started in 2004 and we now have a team for U15 (ages 12-14) and U18 (15-17).

We welcome everyone regardless of your playing experience or fitness level- rugby really is a sport that has a place for everyone… anyone can learn to play! Some of our players at Guildford have now been playing for a few years but lots are new to the game. We have a team of 4 coaches who are able to make sure that any new players are given all the support they need to learn about rugby and, most importantly, to help them to enjoy it.

Training takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm-8pm, just before the Senior squad, and is coached by Rugby Football Union qualified coaching staff that have experience in coaching girls’ rugby. Both age groups warm up together and then separate for contact and tactical training.

 

For training it would be best to wear shorts or tracksuit bottoms and a sweatshirt. If you have rugby boots and a gum shield it would be good to bring those too. If not don’t worry, just come down in trainers and we will make sure you get the right gear!

 

Membership to Guildford RFC is £55 per year although your first 4 weeks are free whilst you decide if rugby is the sport for you.

 

Matches take place on Sundays normally kicking off late morning or early afternoon. We love to have supporters including parents, guardians, grandparents and friends to come along, watch and cheer. The Clubhouse is always open for a hot drink and bacon sandwich to help keep you warm while watching.

 

Being part of the Guildford Gazelles is not only about playing rugby but always a great laugh too. You will always see us having a go with a smile, and we would love to see you come down and do the same.
